Your slideshow gets views. What should you improve next?
Separate attention, usefulness and business results to choose a focused next experiment for your app campaign.
The method
- Record the source, observation window and meaning of each metric. Leave unavailable values blank.
- Check the path from views to clicks, installs, activation, trials and purchases. Avoid mixing populations.
- Choose one step to investigate. Write a hypothesis, baseline and primary metric before changing the creative.
- For store experiments, use the platform’s statistical report. For social comparisons, document audience and timing differences.
The next useful change may be in the post, the store page, or the app itself. More publishing cannot resolve every bottleneck.
Worked example: fictional puzzle app
10,000 views can show distribution, not purchase intent.
Saves may suggest the lesson is useful.
Store visits without installs suggest reviewing promise, proof and listing fit.
Installs without activation suggest a first-use problem inside the app.
A funnel is a diagnostic aid. Observational counts alone cannot establish why people converted or which change caused a result.
